With the laser welding head, components can be processed, coated and provided with new contours by means of laser metal deposition (LMD/DED). Damaged and worn parts can be repaired, whereby the filigree welding process minimizes the heat input. This saves costs and material compared to new production and enables new material combinations. The Mabi Robotic robot with a processing radius of 2.25 meters is suitable for small and large components and can also use the EHLA process for rotationally symmetrical components in addition to classic laser powder build-up welding.
The adaptive motor spindle enables components to be pre-machined, welded and re-machined in a single clamping operation, with the changeover from welding to milling being fully automatic. The robot offers flexible 8-axis production of complex geometries with a reachability of around two meters and a rotary and swivel unit as a machining table. Thanks to Siemens NX offline programming, movements can be precisely simulated and programmed independently of the production process.
